Mind your language

My daughter watched an old British television show from the 1970's called 'Mind Your Language' at school. She showed it to me afterwards and I thought it seemed like it was discriminating cultures but I also found it very amusing.

My favourite character is the Pakistani man, Ranjit. He is terrific.
But Pakistani's might be mad as they could think it is insulting.
The Japanese man in the show, Taro, is always walking around with a camera hanging around his neck.

Maybe this drama was accepted at that time, but I think it would be difficult for it to be on television in 2013.

  3. I think that today you always have to take care of what you say in order not to offend somebody, but self irony is a good thing in my opinion :-))) Your paintings are all super, specially love the daisies and the chicken is really fabulous !

  4. The world is going to change a lot.
Many people get married with people of different nationalities and children are born in different countries even those of their own parents ... I have granddaughter that every day, from two years old she was born, she is confronted with four languages.
I hope that multilingualism and multi-ethnic world
, freedom of travel for work and not just for tourism to develop new human being more open and capable of peaceful coexistence. Dream? I hope the dreams come true.

Beautiful, as always, all your watercolors, those "serious" as the comic.

  5. Hi Studio at the Farm,

I love painting chickens actually. I don't know why I can totally relax. When I was a child, we had some chicken in our garden. At that time, I didn't paint chicken at all. What a shame about I had a real model though.
