ついに、胃カメラを飲むことにした。ドクターカリルは、めちゃめちゃ明るくて面白い。自分の診察室から、医者が患者を呼ぶ。それは、看護師の仕事。部屋にはいるなり、力強く、握手をしてくれて、なんだか、前から知ってるひとみたいなかんじ。

イスラムでは、男性が女性さわることは許されてないし、その反対もふつうはゆるされてはいない。わたしが、すぐにモスリムではないとわかったから、握手をしたのだろう。

問診の合間に彼が言うジョークもおもしろい。

私の、脈をみながら、

車なら、イタリア。

靴なら、イギリス。

ネクタイなら、フランス。

結婚するなら、日本人の女性。

ってことになってるけど、

どうおもうかねという。

２０１７年、状況は、変わっていますよと言って、お互いに大笑い。

ほんとに、明るいお医者さんで、こんな楽しいお医者さんだと、

どんな病気も大丈夫のような気がしてくる。

日本の女性が、一般的に、そういう風におもわれているという事を、聞いたことがある。推測するに、文句を言わず、よく働き、だんなをたてる。

家人も口にこそしないが、推測するにすこしはそういうことを思って結婚に踏み切ったともいえる。期待を裏切って悪かったとおもっている。

日本人の友人がずっとまえに、

うちのだんながね、日本人やから、結婚したのにっていうのよ。

それどういう意味だとおもう？

日本人やから、口答えせず、しとやかに、だんなをたててっていうふうに、

考えていたとしたら、おおまちがいやわと、怒り爆発だったのをおもいだした。

どこの国の人でもいい、君を愛したからだっていえばよかったのにねーと、

女同士で、馬鹿笑いした記憶がある。

胃カメラは、週末になった。

あの底抜けに明るいドクターに会えるとなると、胃カメラだけど、すごく楽しみ。

Specialist Gastroenterology

 I decided to try endoscopy today.  Dr Khalil was really bright and funny.

He called my name himself from the examination room whereas it is usually done by nurses.

As soon as I got in the room, he held my hand tightly.

Men are not allowed to touch women in Islam. Maybe the other way around as well.

But when he saw me, he could tell that I was not Muslim.

I thought that was why he tried to shake hands with me.

When he was checking my pulse,

he said, ''Generally, we say

Cars from Italy,

Shoes from England

Ties from France,

Women from Japan.

What do you think?"

"The situation is changing in 2017," I said and we laughed.

Since he was so bright and funny, I thought he would be able to cure all patients without giving any medicine.

Japanese women are considered to be very patient, hardworking, and always proud of their husbands without complaint.

My husband might havexpected me to be like that, but I am not a typical Japanese woman.  I feel sorry for my husband.

Long time ago, one of my Japanese friends was furious.

She said, “I can't believe my husband said, 'I got married to you, because you are Japanese’".

Can you guess what he meant?

 We told her, “Your husband should have said,

‘I love you that’s why I got married to you, I don't care about your nationality,’"

and we laughed a lot.

Endoscopy will happen on Saturday.

I can't wait to see the super funny Dr.
